WHAT's HAPPENING?

 

If you have been directed to this site it means that you have been invited to celebrate my 40th birthday with me and some hand-picked friends on September 11th to the 13th at Calliote Canyon in Ojai, CA (a little more than an hour north of L.A.).

 

WHY CELEBRATE IN OJAI?

 

I discovered this property a few months ago and was immediately in love with the natural beauty and layout/ amenities and its’ quiet, off-the-grid serenity.

 

Instead of the usual “dinner party” or music outing I wanted to share an experience that I think we will enjoy on many levels.

 

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO AT THE RESORT?

 

We will start Saturday morning and stay all the way to Sunday late afternoon. You may drop by at any time and...

 

... meet some new people or familiar faces in any of the stunning spots on the porch or in the living room or the fire pit

... relax in the sauna or look at the stars or trees from the hot tub surrounded by trees and creek

....go for a walk on the expansive property or and check out the beautiful Ojai Valley

...take a nap in the shade or the hammocks

...enjoy (or help prepare) a meal/drink with us in the fully equipped kitchen

 

Think of it as a relaxing getaway where you can escape the city, to slow down, connect and enjoy yourself. This is not your typical birthday party. In fact it’s not really a “party” at all. It is an incredibly beautiful environment that I am excited to share with some hand-picked friends to mingle and relax. 

 

SPENDING THE NIGHT

 

Please let me know if you would like to spend the night. The house sleeps about 25 people. There are many comfortable places to crash, including the outside porch area where I will be sleeping, as well as several private bedrooms. 

 

While you are welcome to come out just for the day on Saturday or Sunday, we fully expect many of you to join us for the night.

 

Please let us know in your RSVP what you plan on doing.

 

WHAT IS HERE
 

• Enough room to comfortably sleep 20+ people

• Showers

• Blankets

• Towels

• Some food

• Water

 

WHAT TO BRING
 

• Alcoholic Beverages if you want any (please keep in mind that this is a quiet and serene place. Think glass of wine or craft beer versus hard liquor)

• Food items if you have special food needs (we will have some food available)

• A bathing suit for the hot tub (unless you like to go commando, it is after all a private property) and personal towel

 

KEEP IN MIND
 

• You will likely be off-the-grid so let people know that you may be returning their calls when you’re on your way home

• This is a hand picked group of friends. If you have received this invitation, of course it extends to your significant other. If you have suggestions for other people you may want to extend the invitation to, please check in with us first.
