OJAI CALIFORNIA SEPTEMBER 13th & 14th 2014
The Location
Calliote Canyon is a stunning, one of a kind property perfect for intimate gatherings and joyous celebrations with family and friends.
Located just ten minutes from the lovely town of Ojai and only 1-1/2 hours north of Los Angeles, Calliote Canyon provides both total privacy from the outside world and easy access to restaurants, art galleries, beaches and more.
Calliote Canyon is comprised of five privately owned acres which back to the Los Padres National Forest. Situated in a natural “bowl” created by surrounding mountains and foothills, Calliote Canyon offers a 360 degree, uninterrupted view of the natural world. An abundance of sun-dappled foliage, peaceful pathways and ancient boulders complete the natural splendor.
Ojai is considered sacred land by the Chumash tribe, and Calliote (which means good house in Chumash) Canyon is designed with the sacred in mind. Created as a sanctuary, Calliote Canyon invites communion: communion with nature, communion with the divine, and communion (or reunion) with family and friends.
A large main house sleeps ten to twelve comfortably. Two romantic "guest" cottages sleep two each. And a 30 ft. multipurpose yurt comes with up to six futon pads for a cozy night's sleep. The main house includes two beautiful master suites with private bath, a state of the art kitchen and open dining area, an extra downstairs bedroom and full bath with steam shower, a spacious, inviting den with satellite TV, DVD and internet access, two large fireplaces, and a wrap- around deck ideal for conversation or contemplation. A built-in grill on the deck encourages multiple cooks. The yurt is wonderfully suited for practicing yoga or meditation or for receiving massages. The yurt also comes equipped with a 120" drop-down screen perfect for showing movies.
Outside, a majestic amphitheater rises above the main house hand-built from stones gathered from the property.
Once night falls, gather around the sunken fire pit to share stories and play music, or follow the multiple pathways to the outdoor jacuzzi, open air shower, and changing room. You can relax weary muscles in the Swedish sauna and outdoor decks provide plenty of places for peaceful lounging.
From the furniture to the abundant stone and woodwork, much of what you see at Calliote Canyon has been handcrafted by Los Angeles-based artist-designer Alwy. Created to promote health and well-being, Calliote Canyon embodies authenticity and tranquility, sophistication and attention to detail.
Come experience this sacred space. Come celebrate; come meditate; come commune with those you love.
Calliote Canyon offers a treat for the senses and a feast for the soul.
